It does take a while to load as far as I recall. Also, the smoke was responsible for low fps.

The thing is.

TW games have always been buggy until they have been patched a couple of times. Even then , they're not perfect.
I think the big issue with this series is the fact that no one seems to give two hoots if the coding is right any more. They release half tested games that they have no intention of fixing these days, more fool you people that waste money on these titles now. Maybe TW just needs a competitor!
Until then, I'll stick with RTW 1.5. It's as good as the TW series gets unless you go for a mod like EB.

. My PC is on par if not better than that spec. The game is badly coded.

Gave this game a bash a while ago and it seemed to work fine. My PC spec is dire: Athlon 64 3500+, 6800GT (now a 4650) and 2GB but i didnt seem to have any of the problems you guys do. I guess i just got lucky, mind you i never really got into the actual battling as it was just too repetitive and used autoresolve whilst i played the campaign.

Yes . The Majority of the problems are on the battlefield.

Can they go back to the Medieval 2/Rome engine for their next one. Those are two of my favourite games of all time. Empire is absolute crap in comparison, half performance issues (ok my pc is old, i expected this), half gameplay issues.

The realistic battlefield experience is what has traditionally sold the TW series and set it apart from other God games. Either the series has degenerated further than even I thought or you are missing the point.
