empire total war wont start

steam wont let me play this game keeps saying try again later wtf??? ive installed it all i wont to do is play the ******king thing in single player mode.

There was a patch released today/yesterday evening, has it downloaded that? If not, right click > Properties > Local Files, and verift Integrity of game cache?

Also, have you tried exiting and restarting steam?

ive just had to unistall steam and the game am trying again now for the 3rd time as steam just hanged when it wanted to do an update it is realy slow thius is my first time using steam not impressed so far

I bought two worlds over steam recently and it wouldn't let me play that. Turns out it was a problem with the registry files. Not sure what you can do about it with empire total war but it could be something to do with the way steam installs games.
