I haven't given the land battles a serious go yet but flanking at a guess, you need to try to flank them or as someone said before even better, strike from behind.
 
Mines packing as well.

Though as I recall this company from the islands, takes a couple of days to deliver it, so I'm not expecting to receive mine until Wednesday or Thursday. As that's been my experience when pre-ordering in the past.

I just checked my order status and it's been dispatched but I don't expect it until Wednesday. The post is quite slow lately.

I assume this will work if your sending a Cavalry unit to the opponents infantry, it would probably be very effective if timed and positioned perfectly.
 
My Pre order from the Jungle for the Special Forces edition says should be dispatched tomorrow.

Interestingly, the price is stated as £33.99 although when when you click through the link, it says £34.99 and im sure it was £34.99 when I pre-ordered?

And that's why we have the Infantry Square ;) You have no back and flanks to attack with cavalry.

Combined arms is the key. If they are in square attack with canon and infantry, if they are in line attack with canon and Cavalry, try to force them into the formation you are most equipped to attack but timing is everything.
