Hi all quick question for you all - has anyone any experience of these and how honest were you?

Let me explain: we have been asked to complete one online (which i'm currently doing) but i'm not sure how honest i should be! put it this way, i am less than complimentary about virtually everything I've been asked about. we have however been assured of our anonimity - but i'm not convinced.

the way it's been done is to give everyone a password and group together similar levels of people, with no names or functions tied to them (apparently). we haven't got that many people working here so it should be fairly easy to work out by the process of elimination who said what, and therefore for management to "retaliate" in whatever form that takes.

i'm looking to get out of here as soon as possible so i'm not shying away from saying what i think, but if the worst happens and i don't get another job for a while then i suspect i'll be in trouble. i'm steering clear of personal attacks though, just mentioning functional areas.

so what you guys do? say what you think regardless and stuff the consequences? not complete it at all? moderate my comments to make them more acceptable?

help :D

Funny, I've just received one of those today as well... your company isn't trying to get into The Times 100 top companies by any chance is it?

I went hell for leather on my comments section to be honest with you, it's pretty dire and the general consensus is that this anywhere but one of the top 100 places to work in the country - so nuts to the hypocrisy of it all.

we're part of a larger group and our head office and other factories have completed this for the last couple of years, and according to them nothing happens as a result of it all anyway! most of my friends here have ripped them up and are refusing to complete them which is a bit silly imho, you've got have your say.

i don't think we're prestigious enough to get into the Top 100, i suspect we're competing for the worst company award :D

We get these about every year for looking at internal moral etc and in fact we are getting a daily question at the moment regarding changes to our area of the company.

If you don't say that there are any issues then nothing will get fixed or changed. I don't know anyone who has been stamped on for answering them honestly (and some things people put last time were pretty harsh). If it was for an external survey I suspect we would give more bland answers so not to bring the company into disrepute :)

I remember my Dad having to do one when he worked for a massive American IT company many years a go where they did a morale survey. They were a bit concerned with the result from the department he was in as their satisfaction grade was 8% ;)

Be honest, but be constructive (if the format lets you) with your critisims. It's no good saying something is rubbish without explaining why and what could possibly be done instead, or even say that you don't understand why something is done in a certain way.

We have one of these more or less every year. NHS satisfaction survey things.

Its supposed to be anonymous, and that barcode on the front of the questionnaire is only there so they can see who they need to send reminders too if they have not returned their questionnaire. I'm doubtful that's the only use for the barcode though!

Needless to say, ive never filled one in, and i dont know many that have!
