Alright chaps,

Basically the girlfriend has just landed a job in London and wants me to go with her.

My background is that i've basically completed a degree in Sports Science, and a postgraduate certificate in Sports Nutrition. Since I finished the post grad course, i've had little luck in finding work locally (North East), so this relocating lark may be a better option job prospect wise, although I appreciate it is going to be extremely tight money wise initially.

I'm very much open to anything, obviously have an interest in I.T and A Levels to back it up, however no formal qualifications (MCSE etc).

I understand fully that my degree was perhaps a waste of time on the subject front, as the sports sector is ridiculously competitive, and the real top jobs (strength and conditioning coach's etc) are the only ones that pay real money (35k upwards).

Anyway, basically what i'm asking is where do I want to be looking online on the job front for London? I've looked at Prospects and some of the grad schemes they offer, but it seems like they are a long, drawn out process, not to say I can't apply for them, but will be needed work asap. The girlfriend will be moving a month from when her letter arrives formally offering her the job (within the next week).

Any help greatly appreciated - websites to look for jobs etc? any advice for relocating? cost of living in London?

Cheers.

I think your best bet would be to get onto a temping agency so you have some form of income while you're looking for jobs. Sadly, I think you will find it extremely difficult to get onto any sort of grad training scheme with your background, but you've nothing to lose by sending out lots of CVs and filling in lots of application forms.

Good luck! :)

loads of gyms in London, go be a PT for a bit while looking / learning something else :]

A lot of jobs will just ask for a degree in any area. Theres plenty of jobs if your easy!

Temping agency is a good start while you keep an eye out for a better job.
