I'm calling BS on it, due to the fact that I don't think they could justify keeping DNA data on students for that reason, the costs in analyising it, and the fact that you could never proved how exactly it actually ended up there.

Possible if it mixed with hair, put I suppose its the hair thats doing the blocking and it just happens to hang onto the hair (sorry for mental image

), but it wouldn't be anything an industrial suphuric acid or sodium hydroxide de-blocker wouldn't clear afaik?, you wouldn't have thought they would even know what was causing it anyway, just easier to tip the stuff down to clear it, than to pull the pipes apart to look for it
