Emu 0404 better than CD player

hi guys

my current hifi setup is my technics CD player (old one with millions of buttons on got for £50 2nd hand), connected to my can amp (btech bt928 with upgraded caps, resistors and op amp) and my grado SR225s

sometimes i plug the amp into my second pc with soundstorm to listen to music, but was considering getting an emu 0404 to stick in the second pc and use it instead of the cd player

what do you guys reckon? would using the pc as a cd player with the emu 0404 be better than a £50 CD player?

It might be better than your current CD player, but it might not be better than another slightly better second hand CD player.

If you're just listening to CDs then I'd be looking into a new CD player.

its just a pain to burn a new cd everytime i get a new song

most of my songs are 320k mp3 or 500k ogg and i was thinking why not use the 2nd pc and a decent sound card

It sounds like a good soundcard might be much more convenient then.
