Emu 0404 Mic Dilema

I need a mic for BF2 and was wondering how I could connect a normal mic to my EMU 0404?

If I bough a cheap mic with a 3.5mm connector and used a 1/4 adaptor and pluged it into the EMU would that be okay or should I just get a USB micand save myself the hassle?

Could get a usb mic.

For css i just re-installed my soundstorm and plugged it into the mic in on my dfo mobo.

Soundcard has 1/4" jack inputs yeh?

A minijack to 1/4" convertor should have no problems.

Icpmpletly forgot it has a seperate 1/4 jack for each channel. Would it make any difference if I just plugged it into one as I can't seem to get it to work atm?
