I see this message on a few different websites.

When I check my settings, I have 3rd party cookies allowed already. I've checked its not my Adblocker.

Any idea why it does this?

**EDIT** I've searched 'functional' in settings and there are no options for it...

Try a different browser? Have you got things like third party scripts disabled? I expect some security setting unrelated to cookies is causing this.

As a side note: lots of websites break if you don't allow cookies, best way to get around that is to allow all cookies in browser settings, then use an extension that auto-deletes the cookies once you've left the website or upon closing the browser. You can whitelist any website for which you want to keep the cookies (for example on this website so you don't have to login every visit).

It's referring to the purpose of cookies that can be chosen in the website cookie pop-up. If you "Reject all" when you get the pop-up, the site should only try to set essential cookies. If you want functional without all the 3rd party advertising/social media cookies, then you have to find the option in the pop-up and save.

The browser settings will only have a blanket first party/third party setting. It doesn't distinguish the purpose of the cookies.

Does your adblocker have an option to automatically choose the "Reject all" option from sites' cookie banners - it could be that?

You know, I'd completely forgotten I have an extension that just (as far as I knew) accepted the cookie disclaimers on websites. Maybe it blocks the disclaimer. I've disabled the extension and I can see the reviews again!

My bad. Like I say, just forgotten about it as that's kind of the point of it. Thanks all.
