Just got a Western Digital My Book Essentials 3TB drive. Big files write to it fast at upto 90meg/sec and smaller files are slower. Should I enable write caching on the drive? It will be connected to the PC all the time as the drive goes to sleep when idle. Will write caching improve performance much?
