Enableing dual channel memory

I have a Gb of 3200 memory and the mobo instructions indicated that they should be put in to channel 1 and channel 3 to enable the benefits of dual channel memory. (I'm a relative newbie

) Thing is, i dont know if thats what I'm receiving at the moment as my BIOS states memory config: single channel. I've done something wrong right???

Are you sure you have them in the right slots, they could be in 2 and 4 :confused:

or you might just need a BIOS update.

Next to your mem slots it should say something like 'Bank 1,2,3,4', or they will be colour coded, like Blue, Black, Blue, Black.

Basically if they are colour coded match up the sockets.

If they are numbered, just do as the manual says and use 1 & 3.

Get memtest86+ burn it to a CD and boot from it, that'll tell you what mem mode your in if you don't trust BIOS.
