Enabling 8.5 multi on q9550

Installed a q9550 earlier but when running the system under load the multipier is only reaching x8, how do i go about enabling the extra .5, mobo is an asus p5q deluxe. Thanks in advance.

You'll need to do a BIOS flash to get the option of half multiplyers. Newest BIOS on the Asus site is 2005 for your motherboard, it adds support for the Q9550 steppings (both C0 and E0).

While that's the newest, the 14** bios is the most popular one and also introduces half multipliers

Cheers guys, will have to leave it for a day or two as my usb flash drive has packed in, and i dont wanna risk flashing with the asus windows utility, killed an old s939 board with that app.
