Currently using Samsung 830 SSD 128GB, in the new Samsung magician software V4 it advises me to enable AHCI for "best SSD performance" but when I go in to BIOS and change the setting from IDE to AHCI it does get to the "windows is loading" screen faster but then fails to boot and tries again, changing it back to IDE stops the problem and it boots just fine again just a lot slower

any ideas?

i tried this and kept geting a boot failure after enabling ahci in the bois, i did the reg edit before aswell just im unsure if im rong in using my 60gb force gt ??

If you reinstall windows7 you should have no problems, however if you're using Win XP you're going to need to do what I initially did.

This for me as it will be for maybe you unfortunately, I spent hours on end searching the Motherboard installation disk to find the appropriate AHCI file which then will need slipstreaming to Win XP installation files, thus creating a new XP installation disk

If you're lucky enough to have a floppy drive, you can copy the ACHI file to a floppy disk and at the appropriate time Hit F6 during XPs installation.

I might be telling my Granny how to suck eggs here, if so I apologise in advance
