enabling dual channel corsair xms3

Install the RAM sticks into the correctly paired slots in your motherboard (refer to your motherboard manual) and ensure your motherboard supports dual channel mode.

You install the memory into the designated DIMM slots for dual channel mode (as indicated in the manual) and the MB will automatically recoginse the configuration and run as dictated by the position of the memory.

What is your MB?

EDIT: Beaten to it.

Thats right, if your using two stick of RAM on that motherboard you put one stick in the slot closest to the CPU and then miss one slot then put the second stick in the third slot. It's the two blue slots you want. This will enable dual channel mode.

should cpuz say dual channel?

got both sticks in the blue slots, and nothing
still just says ddr3 8192 mb

and it seems to be underclocked as well, set to auto

The answer in in your other thread.

You need to set the memory to 1600MHz in the BIOS otherwise it defaults to 1333MHz.

I assume you have 1600MHz RAM?

it's saying 1600mhz in the bios, but still 1333mhz(667) in windows

any ideas?

If you're using CPU-Z make sure you look at the memory tab and not the SPD tab.

The memory tab will tell you the actual speed which should be 800MHz for 1600MHz RAM (Double Data Rate).
