I have my PC hooked up to my Panasonic LCD 37" G15 TV via my ATI 4870 graphics card using a HDMI cable. I can get picture without any problems but am at a loss as to how to get sound through the TV.

I have the latest (9.10) catalyst drivers and the matching ATI HDMI drivers and I can select 'ATI HD Audio rear output' in windows sound manager. However, I also have a Soundblaster X-Fi Gamer card which is set up as my primary sound device. This is being used over the on-board Realtek hardware on my ASUS P5E3 MB.

Can anyone offer any advice which will help me get this up and running? I'm pulling out my hair and can't work out which part of the setup is causing the problem. I'm running XP 32 SP3 btw.

Thanks in advance guys.

are you using the 'proper' dvi -> hdmi converter on the graphics card, or just a 'generic' one? the ati cards are wired differently for audio iirc, as i had to get a proper ati adaptor off ebay for an hd2400 i acquired.

I wondered whether that would be the case. I'm using a different make as my card didn't come with an adapter.

Any idea where I can buy one or am I reliant on Ebay?

Thanks btw :D

Ok, I now have the correct ATI DVI-HDMI adapter but still can't get any sound out of my TV.

I have the Catalyst 9.10 drivers + 9.10 HDMI Drivers. In audio properties I can select ATI HD Audio Rear Output but it doesn't seem to effect anything when selected. The driver even reports as working correctly so I'm at a loss. I have the HDMI coming from my second DVI Port (Right port).

Any suggestions? I've been fiddling with this for hours to no avail!
