Enabling progressive scan and 720p on the xbox?

The vast majority of Xbox 1 games will only do 480p, from what I remember anyway.

I remember seeing a massive list of games and their capabilites, but I don't remember where I saw it now unfortunately.

You can only do it legally if you have an NTSC console AFAIK.

Any other way would involve means that arnt allowed to be discussed.

It is ntsc, pretty stupid though that the pal version doesnt have it when ye olde ps2 has 1080i and progressive scan on some pal games.

If its NTSC you should be able to change it in the dash under the display settings. (an new option should appear where you set it to widescreen etc.)

Thats providing you are using a component cable :)

Great :) , why did they disable it for the pal consoles though if they can do it properly, did they not want to sell any, lol?

True, there were just a handful which would do 720p, like Soul Calibur 2 IIRC :)

It is pretty poor that PAL Xboxes lack this functionality without resorting to illegal methods.

HDTV wasn't even a term used by a high street electrical store in the UK and Europe at the time they came out (well, you know what I mean), pretty much nobody had them, so they probably just though to make it less complicated for people just to make it for standard TVs only.

I remember Soul Calibur II would do 720p but in a weird windowed box through the x2vga box I had. 480p was fine for most games... Ninja Gaiden  Looked gooood!
