Hi guys,

My mate asked me a question today, and it left me wondering.

If you were to encode a VBR file, say average 232kbps, into a CBR AAC file of 256kbps, would that then make the file bigger, and diminish the quality of the audio all at the same time?

Or would it just increase file size and keep the quality of the audio the same?

I'm not sure why he would want to do it, but, I didn't know the answer and thought you all might! :)

I'm not sure whether it was best to ask here or in 'Windows and other software' forum.

Cheers in advance! :)
