Encoding with 4870 x2

Just been encoding some films and the 4870 x2 seems to speed it up massively, 7 mins for a DVD from XVID, anyone else noticed this. Not complaining, it does rock

i have had 5 mins with my old rig but it utilised both cores but file was 650 and lost the app after buying a new rig

Haven't tried TMPGENC yet, but on ConertXtoDVD 3 it's doing 250 odd fps in conversion

and that uses the gpu? i thought avivo is what you had to use?

Very impressed, used to be about 40 mins. Converted files seem fine as well, maybe ATIVO natively works with conversion software. Sorry, this was a 800 mpeg file.

1.5 gig file, 12 mins(sotware proposed time) under ConvertX, rig same at sig

no it doesn't use the gpu at all, i just checked it with ConertXtoDVD 3.

80% cpu usage and a 700mb file takes 12 mins according to the timer and im getting 190fps so your quad is working as it should

Currently its hitting 286 fps, it was never that fast before, it was clocked lower (3.2), though. Just assumed the speed jump was due to the new GFX. Sorry about the false alarm!

i use ConvertXtoDVD 3 all the time and it doesn't use the GPU. It does fully support dual and quad CPUs tho.

You need to use specific encoders to make use of your GPU and they're rubbish TBH.
