Hey guys i recently got myself a new wireless USB receiver and when I plugged it in I assumed with win7 it would just work, but it didnt so I tried to install the drivers on the CD and it wouldnt install them either. So after visiting the Linksys website i download and tried to install the drivers manually.

When I downloaded the drivers and extracted the folders and files were in green writing, so I went to device manager and pointed to the folder and when i tried to install I am getting "Windows found drivers software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"
*Hardware Name*
"Access is denied."

Does anyone know why this is? When this happened I got something about file encryption in my taskbar asking me to backup files...

I cant seem to find a way around this, any help? thanks

Do you have administrator access?

It could also be that your local security policy has DRIVER installation disabled.
