I'm always hearing I shouldn't encrypt as I will lose performance. I have to encrypt to be able to have my work account on my phone, so while I had the chance, I thought I'd do a little testing.
I regards to the Nexus 6 - it runs software encryption AFAIK, not hardware based. So it may see an improvement without encryption. Plus it has average NAND speed.
The Note 5 has hardware based encrytion fast UFS 2.0 NAND storage. This maybe why there is next to no difference in performance.
