Does this work for BT? Or is encryption useless?
Client: utorrent

If it works and you are on BT, could you tell me which set-up to use:

you'll stay stuck at a low speed if your uplode speed is set beloe 20kps iirc, try setting uplode speed to 30 and you should get full speed, if your isp has blocked the downloads then use encription

My ISP (Pipex) throttles bandwith when P2P down/uploading. In the weekend (off-peak) i get full speeds, however during the week i'm getting about 20kbsp downstream.

I've selected "Force" for outgoing protocol encryption and ticked "Allow legacy incoming connections" however can someone explain please what this exactly does?

encryption has never worked on bt. i've read a few posts/threads where people say it does, i don't believe them. :D

when i was on pipex a year ago it did work, i guess they've cottoned on and changed it. :p

i think rather than throttle known p2p protocols, they just throttle anything that is not on their list of allowed protocols such as http/ftp etc. so even though you might be masking the fact you are using p2p by using encryption, it still goes slow... admittedly this is speculation on my part but i think that makes sense. :)
