Hi all,

I am using a 2gb microsd card with USB adapter as a method of using portable apps at work and then using my 250GB portable HDD for storage.

Both have work related stuff on, as well as the MSD card having firefox with bookmarks etc.

I want to protect the files from anyone else being to use/read anything incase they are lost or stolen.

I would imagine the best way of doing this is with encryption but I haven't got a clue where to start!

Any suggestions?

Yep use Truecrypt here and it works very well for me. You will need admin rights on your work PC to install the software, after that you don't need admin rights to use it.

You'll need the TrueCrypt software on every machine that you want to use the Flash drive on though, so if you want to use it at work, you'll need the admin rights to install the software.

Or you can use the Truecrypt traveller mode with installs a stand alone app on the drive you want to encrypt then you just run it from that
