Hey all,

So I completed the single player storyline - and yes it's brilliant and the cinematic style of it, is awesome! This is by far one of the best SP experiences I've had...

Nevertheless, after the credits finish, you play the level where you must find the VIP on the plane.

You jump out and thats it. What was the level all about? Very unusual :p

Thanks,
Marky

It's just a bit of fun really, did you notice the "Airplane" reference? "Don't call be Shirley!" :D

I really loved it, felt like really proper SAS style action

I wish you got to do the skydive though :(:(

It just seems like a bonus for people who've completed the game. It was probably an early concept level they through up early on and decided they liked it enough to throw it into the end game but had nowhere to put it.

Well afterwards I was left wanting more so I suppose they done well :p

If they make a COD5 with an extended level in a plane like that... I'll be happy :)
I loved the slow motion hostage sequence :D

However... I wasnt very happy with the ending of the actual storyline... I wanted to know if the team survived or not :p Im guessing they did because I assume it was the team on the aeroplane.

Well Gaz and the dudes lying next to him were definitely shot in the head, you saw them do that. :(

Captain Price looked pretty dead too, the guy doing CPR on him seemed pretty desperate by the time the camera swung away from him...

:Edit: I had the impression that the plane mission was a flashback.

Ah I wonder... I thought at first though that it was like the mission they started after what had happened... I could have swore I heard Price shout on the radio whilst doing the epilogue... may have to re-play it :)

Yeah I heard Price too, I'm pretty sure Gaz got shot in the face though so if he's in Epilogue it's either a flashback or the developers didn't remember who'd died :p

Yeah the slow motion bits were awesome, I especially liked the bit with Paul Jackson after the nuke go's off. It really made it hit home how ****ed up you'd actually be :o

I was quite moved by that bit. It really felt like you were living the last moments of this guys life, quite profound for a game.

Was there anything else to that "mission" other than crawling out of the plane and dieing?

Edit:

Best part by far was Chynoble level, where you had to pull of that shot quickly and take into account wind speed and direction.

Made me feel like a real soldier :(

I LOVED that mission!

I felt so cheated when I got a headshot and it said I just blew his arm off though. :p

The whole game is utterly cinematic. I think the Epilogue was just Soap reliving the greatest moments with his allies in his head once more, because he lost them all at the end (when i saw the Rusky giving captain price CPR my heart fell - he was so utterly charismatic).

It was a short game... but to be honest i really think they intended it to be - it was the closest to Hollywood a game has ever gotten and i think the brief romance you have with the characters is one of the reasons it got so close.

I just utterly loved the entire experience... and i'll be honest i pirated it as i wasn't too fussed about the game a couple of days ago and then went on to complete it on that naughty copy last night. Today i sit next to a legitimate copy i brought just because i was so utterly moved by the whole experience. Well played Inifinity Ward, you've earned my money ten times over.

[EDIT] We all know pirating goes on, lets not get into the whole debate about how naughty a boy i've been but focus on how epic an experience the entire game was.

Good job :D

I 100% agree - the cinematic-ness (That should be made a word JUST for this game!) was awesome and it really drew me in! The friendship you make with the characters and the emotion you feel is amazing and you really feel awful at the end :( But that really shows how amazing the storyline was - excellent game, and I WILL be replaying it :D

finished the game ealier today and I enjoyed every minute of it. gotta be one of the best if not the best game I have played for the last few years !!!

out of interest, how did you guys kill the guy who holding the hostage in the VIP mission? I was aiming to the head but couldn't get a clear shot (killed the VIP in my first try:p) so I decided to shoot him in the feet first :D
