End of the world for the Jaaaag maybe!!

I have had two rads go on all Alloy engines. They go from normal temp to complete meltdown in a few seconds now. It is a bit like the engine oil pressure light. Often by the time the light comes on the engine has been wrecked.

One engine survived, one needed a new head gasket.

Pot luck I guess.

My water pump went on my 740i with it's Aluminium engine in a similar situation to Clarkey (dark, rainy country road in the middle of some S-Bends) and, while I managed to get it the mile or so to a straight bit of road, I had to pull over twice with the temps redlining. Happily I didn't do any permanent damage and it did another 30K miles until I sold her (probably still fine now!) without issues.

This, best of luck, but I can't imagine it survived.

Garage says it's fine. :)
Let's see how she is after the radiator is fitted.

But I drove her on and off the recovery truck without issue, no starting issues, no smoke, no odd sounds and no warning lights. After which garage said engine was fine, but hey let's see how she drives once all fixed.

Nice, glad to hear it all was fine.

Good news!

Can't believe you kept driving tho.

(I jest :p)

Less than a mile, and less than 300 yards with it in the red.
The garage who fixed it said they are very tough engines and know of one which did plenty of miles in the red and it got so hot that the oil filler cap melted, the engine still survived.
