This is the moment you have been waiting for: id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead just announced the official release date for the PC version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars during the id press conference at QuakeCon! Without further ado, here's the scoop: ETQW is slated to ship in North America on October 2, 2007, while Europeans will get their hands on it the Friday before (September 28). Mark your calendars, gentlemen!

For anyone thats bothered. Personally I may give this one a miss :(

I think "meh" sums it up.

A year ago it was a game i definately wanted, after playing it just seems to be a very random game that doesn't hold my interest much. :(

no you don't there's a thread somewhere... i'm off to bed, been playing this for the past few hours...

i find it a game that never lived up to its hype.

was the talk a year ago, but now.. doesnt walk the walk.
played the beta for about 10mins few months back, unistalled it...

i found it very poor. another BF2 copy. but no where as good!

I was very disappointed with Beta 1 but Beta 2 is a hell of lot better, still wish it was less Battlefieldy though vehicles don't do it any favours I think.

Can't believe anyone would like this game much more without the vehicles seeing as the distances are pretty large in the maps shipping with the game.

It was too disappointing.

Having said that it is avaliable for a tenner at tescos so at least not overpriced.

Im suprised that people found it at all similar to BF2 personally, BF2 is drive to a flag and hold it for 20minutes. The other team is also driving to that flag and holding it for 20 minutes, only problem is theres lots of flags.

ET:QW is one team starts at the objective and defend it for as long as possible whilst another team tries to do a particular task there. If they make it then the battle progresses to a different objective in a seperate area.

BF2 = Take and hold
QW = Objective progression

How did all the game sites get this one so wrong? They were all building it up to be some amazing Battlefield beater! I don't know which game they were playing!!

That's what forward spawn points are for, obviously the maps are so large because they chose to include vehicles.

As Anim has pointed out it's just Battlefield with objectives now, it has far more in common with Battlefield than its two predecessors.

i though the game was very poor! just uninstalled it. really out dated nothing really gives it the wow factor. just for kids point and spray

Like most of you here I was excited about the release of ET:QW Beta and otherwise but it does little for me, Beta1 and Beta2 :(

After the initial Beta I cancelled my preorder and I see no reason to buy this when it is released. Shame really!!

i still havn't played this, never got round to it, you need a key or something? anyone want to give me their key for beta 2? want to give it a shot, doubt it can beat bf2 tbh.
