Energy efficient gpu

amd use less power, nvidia can be undervolted to use a lot less power than usual, neither of them are great for efficiency or quiet

Out of the latest gear, either the RX6600/XT or RTX3050/60.

I guess it also depends on what sort of settings you're willing to accept/game, etc.

As for noise levels, I understand the Sapphire Pulse/Nitro are good options as is Powercolor's Red Devil. The Asus TUF and Strix get a good rep in that department, too.

At stock, TPU had the RX 6600 as the most efficient, but as suggested above the RTX cards seem to do quite nicely when tuned.

When undervolting is taken account, it seems to get very messy which cards are best, high-end cards show completely different profiles and energy efficiency compared to their stock clocks.

That said, a few hours of gaming day probably isn't going to be a deal at the end of the year, even at these prices, especially if you're using a modest GPU.

1440p RX 6800 or 6700xt

1080p RX 6600 or 6600xt

If you want quiet get the version with the largest cooler on it and undervolt. I have Asus 6800 TUF and the cooler on this thing was massive and kept it quiet. Stripped it off for a water block but I was impressed by the cooler before I did that.

Power useage graph on the above page and lower is better. The laws of physics cannot be avoided and energy used has to be dissipated as heat which means heatsink and fans for a gpu. AMD are just better for this gen in power useage.

1080P RX 6600 (120 watts)
1440P RX 6600XT (160 watts)

Or if you want to spend a bit more:

RX 6700XT / RTX 3070 (220 watts)
RX 6800 (220 watts)

With energy costs what they are which card be for 1440p or 1080p gaming?

Energy efficient quiet?
Nvidia have the most efficient gpu and also the most power hungry ones too.
you want max efficiency look up the RTX A2000, plenty of reviews on youtube too. card wipes the floor with with everything when it comes to efficiency.

Three kids here,

My oldest lad is running an old i3 cooled with a Noctua cooler with a 1050ti and 450w PSU, 16gb of memory, 250gb and 1tb SSD's, on a Mini-ITX system. He manages to play all his games inc Elden ring, at 1080p 60fps though I am sure not everything is maxxed, yet he loves it, we were even talking about upgrading to an i7 and smaller case and he was going on about no need and not to waste money as he is more than happy with his system and how quiet it is.
I am sure this is the quietest and most energy efficient PC in the house. I think if I was building my three kids new systems today I would love to be going i3 with a 250gb and 1tb SSD and 450w platinum or gold PSU running an modern 75w equivalent of the old 1050ti, but do we have such a card?

3050 seems to have been a flop and requires 650w.

The 1050 Ti was pretty good for the time, all that gen were. I guess the RX 6400 is the closest equivalent and it does pretty well (on PCI-E 4.0) for no power connector, but many reviewers were very disappointed with the performance (it is not an upgrade to a 1050 Ti, despite releasing 5+ years later). The 6500 XT seems to have too high clocks and voltage. The 3050 is not really in the same tier anymore when it costs £300 odd. Nvidia haven't replaced the 1650 in the market for 75 watt cards yet.
