Energy/Heating Managment

Hey Guys,

I was curious if any of you use a Smart Energy Monitor for power into your property etc?

Also has anyone got some sort of Smart Heating Thermostat? I saw the NEST (http://nest.com/) system which looks very very good, however is not yet available in the UK?

i had one sent through by my energy supplier. but binned it as the clip to go on the cable (next to meter) wouldnt fit so didnt bother.

Havent really looked into later monitors as im quite happy now I've lowered my bill recently

British Gas sent me one as they're my energy supplier. It mostly works, but the wireless range from the transmitter bit to the display is awful. Works during the day, but in the evening when there's more people around it generally doesn't.

Its instructive to watch. Seeing my consumption rocket from 4p per hour to 53p per hour when the tumble dryer is on does make you think about putting the washing out on the line as much as possible !

I use a Chorus PV which monitors my Electricity usage as well as my Solar PV Generation. Really neat unit and links to their website too which provides historical stats.
