Right...please excuse slight rant here...
We took ownership of our shiny new house (new build ) on 23 Dec 14, but due to when we took it and festive holidays, could not inform Scottish Power of the change over until 29 Dec 14. My wife provided them with meter readings from the day we took ownership and also that day too. We were told that all was good and we would get a welcome pack within a week and could manage our account online then. Fast forward to 28 Jan 15 and we finally get a letter, which was a bill for £0.00 and saying we are on quarterly payment standard rate.
The bonus was it had an account number, so I went onto SP web site and set up account. I was then asked to choose a tariff from a massive list of 1, their January 2016 Online Fixed. Picked that and then a week later get email saying that the tariff is no longer available and I can pick the February 2016 Online Fixed one. I pick this and then am told I will hear something in 5 working days.............
As you will have guessed, 5 working days have passed and nothing so I gave them a ring. only to be on hold for 45 mins (which was 43 mins longer than their website was reporting as the wait). Booked a call back and then actually did have a call from them in the evening. Went through all this again with them, gave more readings and details for payment and was told that DD would be £86 per month for Gas and Electric. Was told it would take a few days to go through and you can guess where I am going now.....
Just checked online and my account is still stuck at the 'Your switch over is underway' phase, when the bloke on the phone told me my account was all sorted and I was on the tariff I had picked.
Having had enough of them, am wanting to move now, but was wondering if I can move while a 'switch' is still underway or would this cause even more confusion for new supplier?
TL;DR - Scottish power blow goats and I want to move, but am still in middle of switch...can I?
