I was in Halfords earlier and noticed lots of engine additives available, many claiming to increase performance, MPG etc. The was even a NOS additive that claimed to do all sorts of things.

Does anyone used or recommend them or is it just the same as using something like the RONN99 fuels?

I think thats a whole industry built up solely to take peoples money for a bottle of bubble bath.

I might bring one out, DiamondJuice ... the juice your car needs to perform!

I understand Engines/Bearings/Oil seals & in my mind there just cannot be one solution that you can put inside an engine that will cope with all the different materials & temps & be any benefit. In my mind any single solution would be detrimental to any of the other materials it came in contact with & there is no way of only concentrating on one area.

In other words, It's All Crap. Well that's what i think anyway.

I've found some of the Forte products to make a definate differance. Their advanced gas treatment sorted out the emmisions on my 850 and the top end treatment quietened down a tappet.

Now that i have a car that is on it's way to the moon rather than on it's way back i use their diesel treatment evety 6k or so.

I've used millers diesel additive in the LR. Mainly I fuel it with cheap supermarket stuff, which is not always the best. I guess it's the same as using shell vpower diesel (lol @ name) which is loads more expensive and probably contains the same family of cetane additives and detergents from the supplier, but slightly cheaper ppm.
Car seems to like it, perhaps it feels it has a little more torque, but that could be entirely subjective.

I did use a octane booster in an old car of mine, in half a tank of fuel rather than a full tank of fuel. Did notice a slight improvement in power, however had to change the timing to get that ( advanced it (i think thats right) )

Don't ask what car cause u'll all ROFL....
