Engine conversions, best combinations, hit me....

You lot sticking V8s into small hatchbacks obviously don't care about weight distribution and handling then :D

Well, something like the LS6 V8 makes 405BHP and 385ft.lb from 5.7 litres and the whole engine, wet, fully dressed clocks in at 208kg.

A Honda B20, from a Civic, weighs roughly 150kg.

A BMW M52B28 (2.8 six) weighs 180kgg...

12A turbo rotary - 161kg...

So sometimes, there's really not that much in it.

Which gen celica? Sounds interesting :)

That's the one :)

F20C is quite a tall engine - I've noticed on Escort transplants and it is very noticeable in that BMW posted above - look at how proud it sits of the bay.

I think it might be at more of an angle in the beemer to meet with the existing BMW RWD gear?

I read some talk about rotating the engine into a Mid/Rear engined car too a while back, and some arguments about if it was possible or not. Still, not bad looking for a 4 pot :)

You havent got google?

3.0 I6 twin turbo, N52 all ally isnt that great for turbocharging ;) Best to stick with the ally block and iron liners if you want boost.

E30s slice people in half, anyone care to explain? :D

My favourite has to be the 1.8K VVC engine, turbocharged then in the Rover 200. Much fun! Until it explodes, showering pieces of cylinder head over a 5 mile radius

:o

RB25DET into s13 running big boost and lsd for sideways action. would suit me fine :p

LS1 in a 70's/80's type volvo estate (940? 850?)... I have no clue if it would fit tho...
306 GTI-6 engine in a 205 GTI

....then supercharged.
A friend of mine is doing exactly this, minus the supercharger... It's a tight squeeze, he went with the 5 speed gearbox in the end as it's lighter and you don't get any tyre rubbage near full lock... :)
