Hi guys,

I have only had a bike since October, so go easy on me :)

I have heard that using Engine Flush stuff for your motorbike is bad apprently.

Is this true?

Some car engine oils can contain friction modifiers which will screw up a wet clutch, I guess it is possible that engine flush could contain these. This is why it's generally better to use a bike specific engine oil for bikes unless you know that the oil is OK for bike engines. For general maintenace there shouldn't be any need for an engine flush, as has been said a good quality filter and decent oil changed within the relevent service intervals should be fine. Personally I choose to do an oil change about 1k before it's due and generally change the filter with each change, just for peace if mind.

If you realy feel the need to flush your engine use some cheap engine oil as the flush . Fill it to the level . start your engine just to warm the oil, then drain and fill with your normall oil. Job done ..
But as said above if you keep your oil and filtfer change regular there is no need really :)
