Hi all im new here 1st post but need some help

I have a petrol 206 2007 plate

About 2 or 3 weeks ago I noticed on starting engine when i wall pulling away it would drag its heels and try stall for first 50y or so then it was perfectly fine so thought nothing of it

About 3 or 4 days ago it started to struggle slight starting with a clicking noise for a few seconds but again when it kicked in all was fine

It did it again tonight but this time engine management light came on , so thinking now this could be something a little more serious

Anyone any ideas would be gratefully appreciated

You can play part roulette all day if you want. Smarter choice is to read the code, that's what it is there for.

As said, read the code. Very likely to be something simple. Probably battery, filter, plugs or ignition cables. However could literally be anything else.

read the code. you can get a ebd tool off ebay for under 15-20 (and reset it too) rather than paying a garage 10 quid or so.
the code will be the same regardless of whether it is a high end from your mechanics or from ebay.

Clicking when you turn the key is usually the starter motor. No idea why it would be dragging it's heals tho. That wouldn't be a starter motor problem. Unscrew the air filter and have a look, if it's really black it's definitely time for a service.

I did oil filter and oil change along with new sparks too , not had chance to have a look at air filter yet

The sluggish problem seems to have cured for now but the starting issue is still there , varta battery shows a green light which would suggest battery is healthy

Not very savvy on cars and prob should take it in for a service every 6mths or so but work long hours so don't always get the time

Just didn't want to get ripped off by a garage taking it in on the repair and not having any idea what the issue was

I appreciate ppl that took time out to answer with ideas thank you
