Arghhhh, are cars now designed with time bombs on components?
I have an 05 Plate mk2 Ford Focus. A couple of weeks ago I had to fork out to have my gearbox remounted after it came off its mounts.
Now, this morning... driving along at 70mph on the motorway in the rain, and the yellow engine management light just casually turns on and now will not go away!
I've always sworn by Fords but now I vow never to buy one again, I have had endless problems with the car and with Ford themselves.
Had so many problems with independants that I've booked it into Ford again for friday morning.
I know the list of things it could be are endless but what are the most likely? What is the worst scenario and associated cost?
There are no noises or other issues. My first guess is sensors, cat maybe?
How much do Ford charge for the priviledge of plugging it into their diagnostics computer?
Thank you for any advice.
Trying to save money to buy a new (faster) car, but if a Ford Focus can have so many problems and cost so much money...
