Engine Mounts & manifold

Just been in to kwik-fit in an attempt to find the problem of my exhaust blowing.

they said that the manifold was loose or something and that my engine mounts have gone (which probably caused the manifold to go)

does this sound likely?

Where can I get engine mounts/manifold done and what sort of price should i expect to pay? i feel i'm about to be stung with labour charges

yeh,

this is why i want a second opinion

the engine does have a fair amount of play in it.

my brother is an RAF engineer and he told me a while ago that the mounts were gone

in the process of getting hold of a mate who can take a look at it for me as he is quite knowlegable in the area of engines
