engine shudder

Hey

I have a mazda 3 2.2 185

Today whilst stuck in the wonder that is traffic I felt some shudder from the engine.

every 10 - 15 seconds it happens, a slight judder is felt. More so with the AC on but still does it less frequently with the AC off.


I started up Torque Pro and watched the readings. When it shudders the throttle jumps from 6.5 to 10 and back down to 6.5, the vacuum also fluctuates at the same time


just seems very odd to me, is this a missfire? I have noticed a reduced fuel economy and grey smoke upon acceleration (far more so than.before)

No error codes found on torque pro.

any ideas? Would rather avoid taking it to mazda to be checked out as they will charge a fortune to plug it on and come back with no news.

Are injectors easy to replace?
Not looked at them on this car but on my old clio it was a 20 min job to change the set.

I'm not against buying a single one and going through each one to find the problem one.
