Winter is upon us, cold mornings, sitting in your car for 10 minutes while your car warms up and defrosts.

anyone ever thought of or already have an engine start alarm?

i am really wanting to get an engine start alarm fitted but don't know a decent one, anyone got one with any suggestions?

Oh man up it's not that cold

lol, not on about now, i'm on about when and if it snows.

plus would rather warm the car up and have a cup of tea before going to work, rather than stay in my cold car whilst it warms up, you shouldn't drive on a cold engine you know

What sort of car do you drive that you're bothered about driving it when its cold?

it's only a civic, but like i say, i'm too pedantic when it comes to cars, won't drive until it's warmed up, like to maintain any car i have, even if it was a crappy micra.

I was always under the impression it is better to drive the car (gently) to get it up to temperature rather than leave it running at idle. It gets the car up to running temperature much quicker and gets things circulating.

I used to have a remote start but only ever used it a handful of times.

you are correct, but you would have to keep the revs really low, plus my car takes a while to defrost the windows sometimes, iv got crappy heaters.:(

what remote start did you have?

depends what time of the morning you get up.

Mine was frozen over the other day when i went to work at silly o clock.

yes exactly, also depends on the type of car you have, like i say mine take a while to heatup then defrost, but other cars are better at this, like my friends 3 series, bmw's have great heaters

Keep the revs low then, its not hard

I didn't mean not that cold now, I mean not that cold in this country, generally

thats the thing though, by the time i hit the dual carriage way my car still hasn't warmed up fully, so have to rev a bit higher to get a decent speed or will have everyone swearing at me from behind behind :D

what honda you drive?
