It's a replica Spoon Engine Torque Damper, bought from E-Bay for a mere £50 delievered, a bargain considering genuine Spoon items are ~£150. It was a bit of a pain in the ass to fit due to the rear bracket catching on my intake manifold and the damper fouling on the fuel regulator, but after 'adjusting' the rear bracket with a hammer I managed to squeeze it all in.

Apart from looking cool it makes a really noticable diference, there is less wheel hop from a standing start, and gear changes are a lot smoother, especially down-shifting at high revs. Only downside is that there seems to be a tad more vibration in the cabin, but nothing major.

Well worth the money

It doesn't replace an engine mount, it just 'helps' the stock mounts by stopping the engine 'bucking' and moving too much. You could probably get the same effect by uprating all the engine mounts, but this is cheaper and easier ;)

Few guys on the ATR forum have these fitted, they found the same thing as you: Less wheel hop but more vibration. One guy actually ended up removing it because the vibration really annoyed him.

TBH the extra vibration really isn't that bad, not in my experience anyway. It just makes things a touch more 'raw', but it's honestly hardly anything
