Going on from what Housey said about getting 300bhp from a Golf GTi just out of interest what the best engines for tuning. We all know for example that the Honda Civic Type R/S2000 engine needs some sort of FI to get anywhere, where as the GTi you are looking at 60bhp~ increase just from a remap.
So was basically wondering what are some stand out engines in terms of tuning (mapping/induction etc...)
x35i engine will give you near M3 power with a simply remap I believe?
1.9derv Fiat engines will go from 130bhp to 200~bhp with a map and induction
Focus ST engine up to 300bhp easily
Can't you get stupid (600bhp+) figures on those twin turbo Supras on stock internals yet Porsche engines are so highly tuned already you'll barely get any sort of gains?
