Hi all,

Quick question please.

When changing a exaust valve in a engine, does the oil need draining/replacing?

Garage has replaced one in my engine and it has had an oil leak a day after?

OK thanks,

I wanted to check this is something they could have touched before ringing them.

To say I am not happy is an understatement.

They had the car for over a week (2 days diagnosing a misfire) then they kept having confusion with part numbers, meaning things constantly got delayed. They're communication was terrible, I had to arrange lifts for a week and they only ever called me once, I had to always ring them even though they knew I had to arrange transport everyday.

And now this... there is an oil spill up the street for as long as the eye can see. (worried about bikes etc)

Do you think I am being harsh by potentially expecting some kind of warranty on the engine? I'm worried this could have caused future problems.

It wasn't my usual garage. I had recently moved jobs and this garage was just up the road so I thought I would give them ago. Never again.

When they did diagnose the problem, they kept getting the wrong valve. Originally blamed the parts supplier, then started having issue with the size of the valve's. Apparently my mk5 common as muck Fiesta was on a change over period?

Unfortunately I am away all weekend. So they are picking it up tommorow, my mum's now having to stay in. All in all a complete joke. I'm worried about any other damage they've caused

Just an update...

Sounds like the head gasget leaked.

But, they said they couldn't get it to fit again correctly. So they've either right borked it up or attempted to fit the wrong one in the first place!

So a new one ordered
