What does a captain actually do?

Motivation on the pitch
A leader
The 'face' of the team
A senior member of the team to look after the youngsters
Media work
Press conferences...........

The list is endless really, they are expected to do quite a bit apart from just play football.

Or in John Terry's case, anything they ****ing want.

Terry showed at the WC that captain or no captain, he does whatever he likes.

He's somebody that values his own opinion too highly. When Mourinho finally got the bullet at Chelsea, it was widely reported at the time that Terry played a major role in his sacking.

He's a big man that's why.

His club career would be in better shape if he wasn't paraded out for England for every pointless opportunity.

Ask Giggs, Scholes and Carragher what it did for them.

Rio Ferdinand could be the best defender in the World, never put a foot wrong and lives a clean and healthy lifestyle but because he left Leeds he will always be a dirty drug taking cheat, whore of a man.

:D

Gilly Loved Ferdinand, and its only the betrayal he felt when he left leeds for United that makes him so bitter.

We were talking on MSN during Japan and Korea in 2002 when Rio Scored against Denmark I think it was, Gilly told me he wanted to have Rio's babies.

2 weeks later or something he signed for United.

Oh dear.

Ahhhh so it's the jilted lover syndrome, I knew there was something behind it!

Rooney and Wilshere are the only 2 youngsters that are pretty much guaranteed starters and I wouldn't give it either of those.
