Hi guys,

Just to give everyone who doesn't normally follow Rugby League a nudge, England are through to the Rugby League World Cup Final against Australia on Saturday at 9am (BBC Two). England secured their place after a... testing... final 10 minutes of a semi final against Tonga.

It will be a game well worth a watch if you're recovering from a heavy Friday night or if you have never watched Rugby League before and want to see how it differs to our posh brothers in Union. We've certainly got more chance of winning this than they have of getting into the Union World Cup final in 2019 ;)

Some poor decisions from England. It's 6-0 to the Aussies but England have had 2 penalties that they could have kicked to make the score 6-4.

Defence is clearly on top for both sides so take your penalty kicks and look for drop goals.

It's a shame England dropped so many balls in the first half. Very close game with Australia on their last legs by the end of it.

<sigh>

The difference is that in the SL, players have about 10 real pressure games per season where they have to execute plays accurately. In the NRL, its about 20 games per season.

Luke Gale has been the best half back in SL by a mile, but he has been hopelessly out of form in this competition. If Sam Tomkins had played and been so far out of form, they'd have been burning effigies of him in West Yorkshire :)

I hope that they can persuade Bennett to stay on as coach, but if not it has to be Daryl Powell.
