Forwards: Tammy Abraham, Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Ivan Toney

Southgate getting stick for picking Maguire but he always steps up for England games. I reckon Grealish is a worse shout.

I’d maybe take Ben White over Maguire, but we don’t exactly have many CBs who are worthy of a pick over him.

Disappointed for Maddison, think he deserves a shout.

As you say, even though Maguire can't get a game for United, there's not a lot of options and he normally does well for England.

Southgate just hates Leicester players.

Southgate refuses to pick Maddison because of this incident in 2019!!! - https://www.goal.com/en/news/southg...no-incident-during/1b9wjlwbbu6dy151tq3hds9cb0

Clearly its still reputation over form

Ben Chillwell and Luke Shaw. Lmao. Surely Kyle Walker-Peters is a better bet?

Harry Maguire maybe in the squad but he should be no where near the first Eleven. Stones and Tomori for me.

There are loads there that aren't playing or out of form. We shouldn't be surprised anymore, I moan about it but will not be watching.

I've complained loads of times in the past about how loyal Southgate is to these players that cannot even get selected for their clubs. It's the reason we will never win anything.

However this is Nations league, and I came to the realisation during the last lot of games, that this is the most pathetic excuse for a international tournament and it's absolutely meaningless.

It's even more meaningless to worry about the England squad selection as well when you know Southgate is going to write 15-17 names down on the squad sheet regardless of form and activity levels. We'll never win anything with the spineless bottler Southgate.

United have lost every game Maguire started this season. We've won every game he hasn't started. It's not a coincidence. He's not good enough as a player, and a dreadful captain, I have no idea how he's in the England squad.

Its like he is a different player for England though, he has been "ok" for England.

Maguire is just not suited, to the way United play.

Maguire was amazing for us at Leicester, which is what interested United in the first place.

Soutgate will still be picking Maguire after he has been "retired" by Man Utd and is playing for the Wigan B&Q pub league side.

This comp is an ideal opportunity to pick and play those players currently in form to see how they go before the World Cup - but no - he picks the same old tired bunch that have played the sort of miserable, timid football over the last few games that Southgate loves.
