Who in their right mind would bother to pay and go to see this? There will probably be lots of people barely even watching it on TV either. They might have it on in the background, but won't be glued to the screen. Who wants to see the 13th rated team out of 32 from the world cup, with all the same players, the same manager, struggle to get just one goal against a sub standard team? Or if they manage to get 10 goals, so what? It means sweet FA (excuse the pun) since it's only a friendly.

We all know england can't perform under pressure when it's really needed, ie, the world cup. There is discussion about this on the radio and I've also seen some articles on the net, and frankly, I think there's possibly going to be a certain amount of boycotting england. In fact, I hope so.The FA should be giving tickets away to everyone at no more than £10 a go, to give something back to the supporters who quit their jobs and lost life savings during the world cup. Having said that, more fool those supporters, I think they were stupid to do that anyway.

We'll win 3-0 and the media will start crowing how good we were and how we will win the 2012 Euros...then we will get there and promptly get knocked out by the first top 10 ranked team we play. The media will crow about how poor we were, then we will play against Poland in 2013 and win 4-0 and the media will crow about how good we were and how we will win the 2014 WC... then we will get there and promptly get knocked out by the first top 10 ranked team we play...and so the vicious circle continues.

You do know that this country has more than it's fair share of morons? There will be plenty there supporting the lions, get stuck in lads, get some big, hard challenges in, for your country.

Exactly. The FA are relying on those thick, moronic supporters to hand over lots of money. They know they'll do it.

+1

They need to schedule a proper friendly against a top team and actually make a ****ing effort !!!

That's a good point why do we always play third rate teams in friendlies? surely it would be better to lose 10 friendlies against quality teams than to kid ourselves with wins over easy teams? if we want to improve we need to be punching above our weight more regularly.

Haha no worries. I bought them on the day they came out thinking if England did well in the WC it might be worthwhile going and decent seats may've been difficult to get hold of if I left it too late. Should've known better really.

Still, it'll be interesting to see who's selected and how they perform (and what sort of reaction they get from the fans). :p

England do play friendlies against better teams, we drew with a woeful Holland team, we got beaten by an awful French team in a truly awful game with no footballing skill on show, IIRC Ribery had the ball for about 89minutes of that game and did nothing for 88 minutes with it.

We also got thoroughly spanked by Spain, well it wasn't a massive win, 3-0, or 3-1 maybe, but we were so massively outplayed it was embarassing, mostly because it couldn't of been clearer Spain weren't trying in the slightest and England couldn't do anything.

We generally don't play good opposition often, because the FA wants to build up the nations hopes by beating crap teams, and making some dosh in the games between getting thrashed in cups.

Why not schedule friendlies against Holland, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil or Spain? You know, teams where England would have to perform. It's the only way we'd truly find the talent among the highly paid 'professionals'.

They are a complete mess. They need to totally overhaul the squad but this wont happen and it will be same old.

Personally im not even bothering to watch it, lost interest, instead I get to watch Newcastle get spanked 5-0 every game next season :p

It's all about the money.
