Foster's was created by two brothers, so with it being a relationship it's a possessive noun hence the 's?

Foster's Group Limited?

Foster's Lager?

Should brand names have an apostrophe?

Foster's has an apostrophe because their name was foster and it is their lager - the apostrophe is a possessive.

They could have used Fosters', with the punctuation after the s, if they had wanted it to be signifying possession by two or more of the foster family, or used no punctuation at all, because you can call your business whatever you like.

See Sainsbury's vs Morrisons.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not really good at grammar as it is. It was confusing the hell out of me. :)

I have to admit to both calling them Tescos and Asdas, while simultaneously being annoyed at people calling them Tescos and Asdas! :p

Reminds me of this:
