Ok, so the thread headline is a lie and the survey is not biased in the slightest, infact I think they employed the writers of Viz.

It`s good to know the world is not crumbling and business are failing due to a failed system of energy but we can buy our apples in lbs.....
WHAT THE ***** *** ***** ************* *************** *** ********************* ********** *************** ************************ is this country doing, it regression, it really is heading to some kind of even more ***** up Orwellian future than 1984.

Companies should be able to use whatever measurements they want. Governments shouldn't be involved.

I''ll be honest, in some circumstances I get the use of imperial as it does tend to make nicer numbers. Ordering a steak in a restaurant for example, and it is quite nice saying a pint instead of 500ml. However doing anything that needs precision or further calculation and I can't stand it.

Metric has never really been taken seriously in the UK - its just EU clipboard rules nonsense - I cant think of a single thing that is commonly referred to via metric measures.

Its all pints, mph's, lbs etc..

Given whether it's metric or not has no real bearing on anything it makes sense to have the choice and use what the public know and understand and that will never be a half a litre of lager..

Your experience of living in the UK is very different to mine. The only standard imperial measurement standards I find are limited to being in a pub and driving. So it's not "EU clipboard nonsense"....

Then your not thinking hard at all...

Sugar 1kj
Pop litre

I use KG for weight all the time, both shopping and my own fat ass.

1kg = 1litre of water.

I apologise for starting this thread already...

DELETE it MODS.
