not a bad card, but price is a little on the high side seeing as how the xfx 7900gt is for £199 inc vat and free delivery from a competitor. guess i will just order that one.
Is it actually in stock there though? They put those really low prices on and they're in affect for a very very small batch of cards which are gone within an hour usually. At least with OcUK as you can see, they have large amounts of stock in. It might be a bit more expensive, but at least you're going to get the card ;)

Not instock their, but they say 34 due on 30/04/2006 which when I contacted them means they will have 34 left after all the Pre Orders have been shipped out :)... Think Im going to wait the extra 20 days unless other sites can match the price or come close to it ;)

Anybody can advertise a price, pretty pointless when you aint got stock though or cannot get stock.

XFX have two primary Etailors, OcUK is one and the other is not the store your all looking at so you could be waiting a very long time.....

I'm running two OCUK 7900GTs in SLI and they are working superbly, not volt modded them (yet) and are running at 570/800. Did replace the stock coolers with VF900's but the ones included are by no means loud.

Some people are more sensitive to the noise, I find the 7800GTs and the current 7900GT I have now noisy, sounds like a small hoover. I've ordered a VF900 to go on it to silent the thing down. :)

can you post your 3d 05 mark scores in the 7900 overclocking thread?

really interested on what you are getting

thanks

The stock cooler didnt see temps over 60 at stock but started to warm up when I used the "detect optimal frequency) setting. The VF900's have kept them below 60 at the freq's I mentioned and are noticeably quieter. The stock fans arent what I would call noisy but two of them together are definitely audible even with a P180's sound-proofing.

what sort of temps does the stock cooler give?

Currently my 7900GT is at stock and Everest reports the following temperatures:

Motherboard: 36C
CPU: 38C
GPU: 49C

Running CS Source doesn't see the temperatures go above 50C. My 7900GT is not clocked. But I have a VF900 coming soon, hopefully temperatures will go down further and reduce the noise.

would one of those massive coolers of a gtx card fit these gt cards?

... that would be interesting. :)
