I am looking to buy a couple of the 4890's on this week only before it end tomorrow.

I am not sure if my PSU can handle it or not.
Corsair HX 620W Modular PSU

Running:
Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
C2D E8400
8Gb Corsair XMS2 (4x2Gb)
250Gb Seagate Barracuda
8800GTS 512
Sata DVD Drive

I'm hoping to clock the cards up a little (Heard they can do 950?) and maybe the CPU to 3.6 ish. Ofcourse I will need a new board for the 2 cards.

Can the PSU cope with the 2 cards and/or the OC as well.

more than enough. 4890 = 120w load. 120w / 12v = 10 amps. less than an 8800gtx, and those 620w HX are good to power two of those. ~21a load at stock for two 4890's, the 620w is good for 50amps and more

dont use any psu calculators, they are all balls.

id only reconsider if i was running 3 of those cards

i wouldnt. ignoring the fact that he already has a hx620, most reviews out there will point out the pc&c unit isnt quite under a decent load, and its not cool runnign either, reporting something like a 20c increase in exhaust temps which you dont see with other psu's like the corsair the op is already running.

Thanks for the detailed reply james.miller.

Guess I'll stick with this unless I can stretch the budget to a i7 build *counts pennies*

your source seems to be a bit off for the power usage for the 4890

I'd say the HX620w would be fine - I only just moved up to an HX850w from an Enermax 500w that was borderline for powering my rig.

Am just future proofing myself a bit though - I doubt you'd have a problem with the 620 :)
