Enough to run wow/sc2 @ 1920x1080?

You'd be better off with a real quad-core rather than a dual-core with hyperthreading to be honest, try looking at the i5 combos and upwards if your budget will permit it ;)

The Xenomorph would have been just as good to run WoW. My RiS (Rig in Sig :P) runs WoW on ultra at 250 fps in unpopulated areas and around 180-220 fps in instances. Hell, 2 hours before cata was released, I was standing in Stormwind at the hero board with 80-90 fps... and that was bussier than Dala... So it's a whole lot more than adequate. And looking at the Xeno spec, it's slightly ahead of mine on cooling and the GTX 460 is a bit better than my 5770 if I remember rightly?

The i5 rig will be slightly more futureproof with the Quad tho. ;)

WoW isn't that demanding at all really. Your graphics card doesn't need to be much better than a laptop one to run fairly middling settings. Everyone slows down a bit in major hubs and big raids but you certainly don't need to break the bank.

My flatmate rather overkills it (hundreds of fps) by having a hexacore + GTX 460 + 4GB ram

Cheers for the advice peeps. Looks like I can get away with a duel core but a quad for another £100ish would serve me better in the long run.

i am running an i3 + gtx 460 in sc2 and wow @ 1080p, getting 60 fps 90% of the time, never goes below 40, all on max settings.

i3 is a great budget gaming processor, lots of games still not utilizing more than 2 cores, and 4GHz per core can handle most games right now.
