Ok i have been looking at the various enta resellers for my broadband and i have noticed a new player amongst the resellers. TitanADSL seems to be a new reseller and i am thinking of trying them out for the following reasons.

1. New isp
2. Small customer base hence better service (I hope).

What do you guys think? worth the risk!

Not really any risk tbh. Most of your support will be dealt with Entanet (connection wise) and if Titan did go under than Enta will take charge and issue you with a mac code which you can use to move to another reseller or a different ISP.

The support I have heard about (and seen with Aquiss) is impressively good anyway. It is however nice to support the new kid on the block. :)

I doubt because they are new and small will make very little difference, you are still using entanet so still going through the Centrals that all resellers use, ie am on ukfsn and it does get abit slow when the home off peaks hit i doubt that will change.

I just moved from one Enta.net reseller to another.

I was with Freeola which was excellent customer service but wanted £24.99/month (first 3 month was £14.99 not sure if that deal is still present).

Now I'm with ADSL24 again excellent customer service (a lot smaller company though) and now I pay £19.99/month for exactly the same download limits as Freeola had.

I can warmly recommend both, but ADSL24 wins for me cause of the money. For some weird reason my connection seems a bit more stable from ADSL24 than it was for Freeola too.

I actually got an email from the guy who just started Titan.
He seems like a nice chap and even offered me the first month half price! I declined though because I didn't really want to take the risk without seeing reviews from other customers.
But like others have pointed out, they are all under Enta, so it should be fine if you have any problems.
Let us know if you do go for it or not, it will be interesting to see what they are like.

Yeah wont make a difference, the new Central 5 has just been lit to ease some pressure, but it wont last long, we'll be back down to 2-3mbs on weekday afternoons during peak times soon enough, probably by next week. :)

Looks like i will be giving TitanADSL a go!

Thanks everyone for you swift replies.

I to have been in touch with Titanadsl and the chap from there has offered me my first month at £5 off the standard price.

That was a problem with load balancing thanks to BT messing about. We will be back to 2Mbps on every central in a couple of days at 10pm but that is acceptable imo.

Thankfully I get a 2 hour head start on my downloading with aquiss as my off peak starts at 8pm :D

Really, here is the quote from their site

Understanding Peak Usage and Off-Peak Usage

We split the week into 2 periods based when we know usage on the network is and is not taking place. This allows us to control the Quality of Service (QoS) that you receive to a very high standard. It also ensures that no customer can abuse the network by offering a "fair for all" approach.

These 2 periods are:
Peak Usage Period is 8.00am until 9.59pm Monday to Friday
Off-Peak Usage Period is 10.00pm until 7.59am Monday to Friday and All-Day Weekends.

During the Off-peak period, because the network is vastly more emptier we are able to provide every customer in reality a free bonus top-up without using up your main peak monthly usage. An example of using this bonus could be to schedule Windows Updates, Sky by Broadband downloads or similar which are generally quite large. Overall more value for your money.

i got rid of entanet it was far too slow for me im on be i know not everyone can get this but for the money its spot on id never look back

On ukfsn office pack and my offpeaks start at 8pm too its fine until it hits 10pm and the home leechers come imo.

I don't know whether to go for an Entanet reseller or someone like IDNet.
I would like to be able to download more than 30GB, but then I have seen a few people complain of poor speeds in non-peak times with Entanet - what times are the poor speeds? are they all weekend??

uTorrent scheduled to go full blast at 10 pm  ;)

Seriously tho I don't actually see any slowdown at 10pm maybe its cause I'm on a fairly small exchange, I think the problem lies more with the BT local exchanges than Enta.nets available bandwidth. As a lot of providers and not only Enta.net resellers off peak starts at 10pm it puts a huge strain on the bandwidth to the local exchange.

On the graph you can just see sunday. (Shows last 48 hours).

The bandwidth available is used up between 10pm and 1.30am monday to friday to 2Mbps. On the weekend it is usually between 2 and 4Mbps expected performance. All the while maintaining low pings (I can always get 8ms to 10ms to BBC.)

They were only having problems with bandwidth last week due to BT messing with the load balancing. Lets say words have been exchanged since then. :o

If you can afford to go to Idnet with the right allowance than it would be a more consistently fast service.

although with central 5 coming online and central 4 also implemented things should hopefully improve from now on with the next 2 centrals in line for activation soon.

Yeah it was your right, i remember reading about it now, they even had to kick everybody off and manually rebalance themselves. :)

UKFSN here and can't fault the service, im on the MAX 60 package so i can do my downloading during the peak times where you get your full speeds, i never use the 60gb, mostly use about 30gb all in total, thats off-peak/peak, and my caps are 60gb peak, and 330gb off peak. :D
