Anyone using Entanet resellers could you please try and do the following:

open cmd (with administrator for vista users)

ping eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

Tell me what you get please?

Reason im asking is for 2 weeks i've been unable to connect to wow, my isp cant ping them and neither can i.

Just wanted to check if its my isp being *****.

It has to be an ISP issue. I'm with TitanADSL

Reformatted Vista 64bit.
Reinstalled WoW.
I managed to get the downloader to work, but now its stuck on success! and if i cancel "getting realm list".

sure wow rejects pings etc doesnt it? I remember reading about it during beta for people with connection problems, got told pinging was of no use =/

sounds like a router issue to me

I used to be on ADSL24 but now on Virgin 20mbs and i cant ping it either request timed out and my Office BT broadband connection request timed out. Although i think warcraft may be blocking a large number of ISP IP ranges!

Times out from UK Online (24mbps LLU) too. I think we can safely say this server drops WAN pings LOL

Yeah, but for some strange reason, tech support on wow asked me to do it.

Can a router firmware upgrade break port forwarding?

You will find where it is timing out is correct, Blizzard will have their router set to drop traceroute and ping packets etc to prevent DDoS attacks.

From Blizzard forums
